Beyond Copenhagen - positive steps for change, here, now

When: Saturday 7 November, 2 - 4pm
Where: Upstairs, Yeronga Bowls Club, 11 Querrin St, Yeronga

The hopes of many people lie with the UN climate negotiations in Copenhagen this December
– however, even if an effective and immediate solution is not reached at Copenhagen, what alternatives exist?

This forum will explore local strategies for communities to make a real difference on climate change. Panellists will give examples of such local solutions from around the world and explore the viability of renewable energy sources and low-carbon economic alternatives to provide the jobs and energy that we need.

Panellists include Prof. Paul Meredith, a solar energy researcher; Peter Simpson from the Electrical Trades Union, Jessie Wells, Oxfam Australia, and Hannah Elvery, Friends of the Earth.
